FREE LETTERS BY EMAIL · NSV ACADEMY
What the oldest minds knew, for the life you’re living now.
Free letters by email. Each one takes something you deal with now, like scrolling at midnight or feeling tired all day and wired at night, and answers it with what people figured out thousands of years ago. One small thing to try each time. Three letters, then a rest day.

WHAT IS THIS?
You’ve tried the apps. You still feel wired.
Maybe you’ve done the meditation apps, the magnesium, the cold showers. Some of it helped for a week. Most days you’re still switched on, tight in the shoulders and tired by three.
These letters go the other way. Each one starts with something you know too well, like the phone you can’t put down or the night you can’t sleep. Then it shows you what a philosopher, a poet or an old medical text said about the same thing, and why the science today often agrees.
You’ll be surprised how much of it was written for you.

INSIDE THE LETTERS
A problem from now. An answer from long ago.
Why you can’t stop scrolling
with Pascal
Tired all day, wired at midnight
with The Yellow Emperor’s Classic
Lonely in a full room
with Rumi
Awake at 3am? Stop trying to sleep
with Seneca
Bring the calm to dinner

Fast from your feeds, not from food

WHO IT SPEAKS TO
Written for 22 and for 72.
The problems are modern. The answers are very old. So it reads well whether you grew up with a phone in your hand or remember life before one. Send it to your mum. Send it to your flatmate.

WHAT DO THE 36 DAYS LOOK LIKE?
Three letters, then a day off.
● letter ● rest day with a gift
Every fourth day there’s no letter. Instead you get a gift: a line worth keeping, a question to sit with, or a small way to start the morning. It’s free and there’s nothing to buy. Your 36 days start the day after you sign up. Miss one and nothing happens.
DAY 4 · REST DAY
“All the unhappiness of men arises from one single fact, that they cannot stay quietly in their own chamber.” Pascal.
DAY 8 · REST DAY
When did your shoulders last drop today, and what were you doing?
DAY 12 · REST DAY
Before your phone, both feet on the floor and three slow breaths out.

WHAT A LETTER READS LIKE
Day 1: why pushing harder makes you worse.
It starts with a 2,300-year-old story about a cook whose knife never went dull, and ends with the biology of why trying harder stops working.
“Most of us, most days, are the ordinary cook. The tool we’re wearing out is our own attention.”
From the draft Day 1 letter.
WHAT YOU’LL BE ABLE TO DO BY DAY 36
—
Spot when you’re stuck on “always on”.
—
Let go in five minutes, lying on the floor.
—
Feel the urge to check your phone without obeying it.
—
Tell real research from wellness hype.
—
Keep five small habits that need nothing but you.

WHO IT’S FOR
It’s for you if you’re always a little bit on.
You sleep, but you don’t wake up rested. Your jaw is tight by the afternoon. You reach for your phone the moment there’s a gap. You’ve read plenty about stress, and now you’d like to feel the difference.
If you want a quick fix, this probably isn’t it. It’s slow on purpose.
Free.
Nothing to buy, no card, just your email. When the 36 days are up we’ll tell you about what comes next, in case you want more.

Start tonight. Day 1 is tomorrow.
This isn’t medical advice and doesn’t replace any treatment you’re on. Teaching, not therapy.
